Style icon: Mignon

Remember Kollector Koo "Mignon" from blog posts past? A die-hard Parisian, she likes revolution and dislikes tourists. I was always quite fond of her and I think it must be due to her irrefutable style: sophisticated yet playful, ever so slightly asymmetrical, and oh-so-French.

So it really should not come as a surprise to you that I may or may not have intentionally dressed Sadie in a decidedly Mignon-esque ensemble today. And no, we did not go out in public like this.
Or perhaps it is a case of art imitating life. Did Mignon evolve based on a personal penchant for navy blue & white polka-dots and lop-sided bows?
Probably all of the above.

(If only I had used a baguette as a prop for this photoshoot! Zut alors!)

Okay, so not everyone dresses their child like a stuffed toy (hey, at least I don't put bedazzled sweaters on my dog!)......but I'm willing to bet a few of you are guilty of the odd episode of "mini-me" syndrome. Baby Frye boots, perhaps?
So, for future inspiration, Koo & Poppet wants to know: what is the most ridiculous thing you've ever dressed your child in?
(think Ralphie's pink bunny suit in A Christmas Story)

  2. J'ADORE! Mignon is perhaps my all time favourite creation of yours. Sadie is ridiculously cute in that get up.
As for your question - does stuffing my overweight cat into a baby onsie when I was pregnant and needing to nest and cuddle count as an answer?

  3. Andrea,
Ben in a beret and a red and white striped shirt would fit in perfectly!

  4. MV:
UH....YES. THAT DEFINITELY QUALIFIES. LOVE IT.
I laugh everytime I remember you telling me the story about your lack of sleep after Chubs' birth....your MW telling you "it's a slippery slope to Crazytown"

    Amen, sister

  5. I swear, she is the cutest thing(beside's my children of course, but they don't have those dimples...)
I by far am in love with Mignon, I went to NR to pick it up and....alas it was gone.
I often dress Esme and London up in ridiculously cute clothes that really should not leave the house, like tutu's and baby legs with a bathing suit top?! Very rad indeed.

  6. That is so cute. And although I don't have a baby of my own, I'm sure if I did (and if it were a girl) I'd dress her up in ruffles galore. Ruffles on the behind of her pants, ruffles on cute dresses, shirts, shoes. Whatever I can think of. Because in my mind, if I love ruffles, she does too. :)
